We plan to add baby photos and patients testaments and stories to the walls of the new department and the website as more of our successes are born, adding to the thousands of successes over the years. If you would like to be included in this and / or have your babies photo added to the web site please send photos and / or a paragraph describing your fertility story to the unit.
At your choice, these can be completely anonymised, initialled or with names added.

"We had the most competent and professional care from everyone from Grace and Asma through to all the nurse and reception staff. They are all to be highly commended". MM
"When we were referred to CARU (now IVF Wales)at the end of 2003 we had many questions about my inability to conceive and were a little daunted about the unknown processes that we were entering into. We need not have worried. From our first meeting with Marie in 2005,and throughout the 2 years that we received treatment,we were helped with professionalism and kindness at a time when we felt so vulnerable and unsure of what the future would bring.
Through each stage ( Clomid, IUI and then IVF) the team were outstanding. From reception and admin to medical personnel,I cannot praise them enough. There are so many people to thank, particularly Marie, Grace, Asma, Lorraine and Debbie who were involved in so much of our treatment; Debra who answered my queries and worries over the 'phone, June who made me feel at ease in theatre and Andrew who explained the fertilization process to us so beautifully.
Without the team's skill and dedication we would not have known the joy of our beautiful son, Taliesin, born in October 2007. However, what I will remember most about the people at IVF Wales is that they know the importance that fertility treatment has for their patients and do not lose sight of the emotions involved. I will not forget the trouble that Alex went to when I had rung to check on my progress on the IUI waiting list. Having said that he would ring me back with the information, he found that he could not get through to my 'phone through the hospital's system. Rather than wait for me to call back, he took the trouble to ring me from his mobile. A simple thing to have done but it meant so much to me.
We will both remember the team with much gratitude for the gift of our son. Thank-you to you all". Ann-Marie and Peter Sherry
"Just felt we had to write and say what lovely care we received on our recent IVF treatment with yourselves.
Everyone was so helpful from the admin, to the wonderful nurses, to Arianna and Grace. Then to Andrew the embryologist who was also superb.
The Egg Collection process was also very dignified, and was a lovely environment to be in, it was nice and relaxed and stunningly clean. And attention was also paid to the Husbands during this time which was lovely.
We did not get the result that we wanted this time, but the staff were so thoughtful to our needs and always had the time to help us with anything at all we needed.
We are going to try again in the new year and would not dream of going anywhere other then IVF wales for our treatment, and hopefully with a few changes in medication etc this time we can then post on the ivf babies board in the very near future". A & J
We have 7 week old twins weighing 7lb 3oz and 6lb 3oz, born at 40 weeks by C - section, after our 5th attempt at Fertility Treatment. My husband had a vasectomy many years ago, so after undergoing sperm retrieval, then had our first attempt of IVF 4 years ago, however after being unsuccessful continued treatment until we now have two healthy baby twins, born on 3rd August. Many thanks to Marie and the team for all their support and advice through this long and stressful period. Everything seemed so organised, caring and nothing was too much trouble, even when treatment failed. It was a long and agonising time, and as time elapsed, never did we think treatment would be successful, let alone have twins !! Thank you once again
On the 15th July 2008 my husband and I gave birth to healthy twin boys Alfie Bruce Workman 4lbs 15ozs and Alex Evan Workman 5lbs 11ozs @ 36 weeks gestation. We concieved via the icsi treatment on the first attempt. We were made to feel so comfortable and secure in the teams hands, on every step of the process, right from the very first consultation we were made to feel that we were the only ones that mattered. The staff treated us with compassion, respect and understanding. We just wanted to say thank you for giving us the most beautiful and precious gifts in the world! thank you to all the staff including Mr Miles, Mrs Evans and Debbie jefferies who scanned us all the way through and told us that we were expecting twins, I will always remember that moment. Thank you again. Royston and Michelle Workman, pembroke dock, pembrokeshire.
